MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS LAYS FIRST STONE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MALI LOEK BRIDGE

Minister of Public Works, Samuel Marçal, accompanied by Deputy Minister, Júlio do Carmo, President of the Covalima Authority, Miguel Armada Cardoso, Director General of Bridges and Roads, Nene Lobato, Coordinator of the Verification and Payment Inspection Unit. Aleixo do Carmo Amaral, Director General of SEFOPE and President of IGE-ADI, Ana Paula da Cruz, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Mali-Loek bridge located in Sanfuk Village, Camanasa District, Suai Administrative Post.

In his speech, Minister of Public Works, said, in recent years development in Timor Leste does not work, public infrastructure such as, many roads and bridges are broken, therefore the Ministry of Public Works has its responsibility to solve these problems .

"In the past few years, our development has not worked. I have almost walked throughout Timor, seen many broken bridges and bad roads, with these situations the Government has full responsibility to improve bridges and roads bad, this project is also part of the comprehensive IX Government, therefore asked the authorities and communities to contribute to accelerate the project this is to be finalized according to the time, which has been determined in the contract," said the Minister of Public Works in his speech.

Before closing his speech, the Minister of Public Works, asked the company Djeje Oal Unipessoal Lda, must build bridges with quality and not look at the budget, because this is like giving the opportunity to the company to learn to contribute to development in Timor-Leste .

In the same place, President of Covalima Authority, Miguel Armada Cardoso, said, after the launch of the construction of the Mali-Loek bridge, when completed and inaugurated can facilitate the community to move with public and private transport.

"For many years we all wait and every year the community always shares information about the condition of the Mali-Loek Sanfuk bridge which is difficult to move during the rainy season. Today we are happy to launch the first stone for the construction of the bridge," he said.

Meanwhile, the budget for the construction of the bridge Mali Loek, Sanfuk amounted to $ 1,119,530.98 according to the contract the work will be done for eight months.
